Jellyfin is the volunteer-built media solution that puts you in control of your media. Stream to any device from your own server, with no strings attached. Your media, your server, your way.

By default jellyfin is only accessible locally, within your home network. Once jellyfin is configured for use with homecld, it is able to be accessed anywhere on any supported device.

Jellyfin installation instructions

  1. Download Jellyfin from here. We recommend downloading the server installer, and not the portable version as the portable version does not have ffmpeg.
  2. Configure your username and password, and add media directories. Jellyfin should automatically open a configuration page. If the webpage does not automatically open, you can use manually open the page by going to http://localhost:8096. If you still cannot get to the main setup page and you are using Windows, you can right click the jellyfin tray icon and say “open jellyfin” It is very important that you complete the setup and set a password, before installing your Homecloud connector.
  3. Purchase your Home cloud domain. You can purchase your Homecloud connector here.
  4. Install your Homecloud connector. The Homecloud connector installer can be downloaded from here. It is recommended that you run the Homecloud connector installer on the same computer that you installed Jellyfin on.
